Guterres stated in the statement that controlling global temperature rise within 1.5 ℃ is one of the milestone goals set by the Paris Agreement, and to achieve this goal, it is necessary to gradually phase out all fossil fuels. More and more countries are recognizing this.
The negotiators at this conference also pledged to double renewable energy capacity and energy efficiency by 2030, and made progress in climate adaptation and financing.
